Themes editor guide

You can manage themes in the CMS today. More of the workflow is on the way.

This guide shows how to work with themes in the CMS.

The theme set

  • There are 14 themes: Temptation, Love, Imagination, Humility, Reason, Morality, Wonder, Grief, Myth, Growth, Joy, Faith, Friendship, and Courage.
  • The design team owns this set. The themes come from the design file, and an automatic sync keeps them in step. You do not create or delete themes. If a theme is dropped from the design file, the CMS flags it rather than deletes it.
  • Pick one featured theme at a time. It becomes the Home "Theme of the Week".
  • Set the header label yourself. It defaults to "Theme of the Week".

What you can edit

  • Name. The theme's name, up to 30 characters.
  • Description. A short one-line description of the theme, up to 70 characters.

What comes from design

  • The colours, the arch icon, the background wash, and the portal animation all come from the design library. You may see these fields on the theme screen, but do not edit them. The next sync overwrites any change.
  • Portal animations are not final yet. Every theme uses one shared sample animation for now. Each theme gets its own animation once design delivers the files.
